Breathe less.
Reduce activity and exercise. This will reduce the amount of smoke inhaled, and potentially prevent foreign particles from deeply invading the respiratory tract.
Postpone stressful events like weaning, changing groups, vaccinations, & transporting, if possible, until air quality improves.

Basic Needs.
Keep clean, fresh water always available. A well-hydrated respiratory tract is less prone to irritation.
Provide cooling such as shade, fans or misters. If there is smoke, it is probably hot outside. Avoid the onset of heat stress.

Block Stress.
Reduce and block any dust from feed or facilities. Try misting the area with sprinklers or get cattle to a wind blocked area.
Minimize any other stressors and allow all animals to recuperate after smoke exposure.
